Snip Snip

I thought Sagey's hair felt a little thin on top when putting mousse in it this morning...

...and knew why when I found this in the entry way, while putting on our shoes!

Who's to blame? The Rascal!
( he got a lecture from Kate, on how he did not go to hair cutting school like Aunt Lacey and Aunt MJ so he should not be cutting any one's hair. And it's dangerous!)

Now her hair doesn't cover up the bruise on her forehead from falling on a chair at church.

But she is still stinkin' CUTE!

My First Birthday!

On my special day... my family came into my room singing Happy Birthday, while wearing birthday hats, before dad had to leave to work! My mom let me have "breakfast in bed" (a warm bottle and eggs and toast after presents) before going into the family room to open presents. The room was decorated with red streamers, a dozen balloons and a traditional birthday sign (made by mom and Kate ). I had a lot of help from Kate and Chan opening my presents. I played with my new dollies (from Kate and Nana and Papa) and pink pony (from mom and dad) all day.

Around 5:30pm we met my dad at his work and went to pick up take out from the Brick Oven (pizza and pasta is one of my favorites). We took it to a park up Provo Canyon where we had a picnic, played with the Frisbee and Kate gave me stroller rides!

Afterwards, we went back home for ice cream and cake. Boy, did I dig in!

My dad gave me a tubby to get me all clean, where I played with my new tub toys (from Chandler) and then snuggled in my new pajamas (from Gramma and Papa) before going to bed!
Thank you for the FUN day, all the presents and phone calls.
p.s. that is not my first zit on my nose, it is a carpet burn from my brother dragging me by my ankles down the hall. I guess I forgot to raise my head while screaming!
*** I have 6 teeth, not walking...yet, say: momma, dadda, hi, wow, uh-oh, wave hello and goodbye. Love books, babies, to swing, tubby time, going for walks, playing in the toilet. Don't like animals, the sun in eyes and my pestering brother!***

Happy Birthday...

...to ME!

Have You Ever _________________?

1. Have you ever found your child bathing them self in the bathroom sink?
2. Have you ever answered your front door at 8am, half asleep, to find your child standing there saying, "mom, it's cold outside?"
3. Have you ever had to put a two sided key lock on your front door because your child kept escaping with a dead bolt?
4. Have you ever had to attach a safety device to your sliding door, so your child won't open it and climb over the back porch to explore the neighborhood at 8am?
5. Have you ever overheard your neighbor ask your child, "does your mom know you're outside, or did you escape?"
6. Have you ever found your child trying to stuff paper plates in the toaster, pretending they are Eggo's?
7. Have you ever had a child weasel their way out of their car seat and climb into the front seat while driving down the freeway?
8. Have you ever watched your child drag their baby sister down the hall by her ankles before you could save her?
9. Have you ever watched your child run out of a park bathroom buck naked, yelling, "mom, I did it all by myself!?"
10. Have you ever had a child scatter two fist fulls of sand in your family room, brought in from outside?
I have and still LOVE the Rascal (but getting grey hairs from it!)

Fall Leaves

After living here for almost three years, fall has become my favorite season... the leaves change colors, the cool air, cardigan attire at night, soup and scones for dinner and darker nights. My mom and I took the Rascal and baby sister on a Sunday drive up the canyon, to enjoy all the beautiful changes.

These tree's are on our street. We have one early bloomer.

Out of the Mouth of Kate

1. For some reason, Kate can't see without these glasses two or three times a week. "Mom, one day I won't need these glasses when I get "eyetacts."
(Most of the time I make her take them off while I am talking to her because I can't take her seriously.)

2. While shopping for some new school clothes, she held up a dress and said, "this is ridiculously cute!"

3. While watching Dragon Tales, Chandler was telling her that he wanted to fly with dragons. She then piped in and said, " I hate to tell you this Chan, but dragons aren't real!"

4. "Lets call Aunt Shanda and tell her not to forget to bring me a birthday present to Disneyland."

5. "Mom, when can I get a fish?" When you're seven. "How about when I turn ten?" Even better.
6. "I don't want to be a mom. "Why not? " I might get lost when I drive my kids to Target!"

7. "Mom, how old will Chandler and Sage be when I turn 99?" Chan will be 97 and Sage will be 95. "Yes!! I will still be the oldest!"

8. "Can we have something different for dinner, like breakfast?"

9. Last week when I picked her up from preschool, the first thing she shouted was, "mom, today was the best day... I was the line leader!"

10. "Did you fight with your sisters and brother when you were little?" Yes, of course. "Was that making a good choice?"

We've Got Ourselves a Hole

They started digging our house this week, crossing our fingers to be in by Thanksgiving, or at least by the first snowfall!

It's been fun to check on the progress everyday.

Weekend of FUN!

My sisters came to visit for the long weekend and cheered me on at the Swiss Days 10K in Midway. Afterwards, we walked up and down the 180 plus booths, purchased a few items and laughed at silly and not so silly things since we were all sleep deprived!
I convinced Mary and Becky to run it with me too (a chilly 43 degrees that morning)
***Prerace picture***

Julie, Mary and I post race picture, all sweaty and tired!

My sisters and I also attended cousin Haylee's volleyball tournament all weekend at BYU, where she plays for the Idaho State Bangles.
She is AWESOME!
