Memorial Weekend Retreat!

The Hills' invited us to a long weekend get-a-way to a Deer Valley condo. We each had our own master suite to get some much needed R & R. We watched movies, hit the outlets & city park, the men golfed, soaked in the hot tubs, ate great food, laughed, & visited! Thanks Nat & Josh for such a fun time.

A stroll down Park City Main Street to get Chocolate dipped bananas & ice cream!
Lounging in bed with a movie all morning.

Chan sure enjoyed himself...rosy cheeks & all!

Do We Look Alike?

Some people have commented that Kate & I look alike. Steve thinks they can't get past the dark curly hair. Others have noticed our uni brow at this age(sorry Kate), or our round face. What do you think?

We are both 22 months old.

We are both 2 1/2 years old.

"The Heat Is On"!

Today it hit 81 degrees! We grabbed our suits & the sunscreen, called "Nan" & Josh & spent the day in Aunt Jane & Uncle Bob's swimming pool.
"No, I cannot see, but I'm ready to get my feet wet"!

Chan chilling in his floating cabana.

Kate & the men had fun doing "tricks"!

*** Yes, I know there aren't any pictures of Natalie & I... she is having a baby in 20 days so I am honoring her request & I'm always happy to be the designated picture taker!

We LOVE Moms!

My morning started off early, cheerful & bright with Kate running in the room waving a homemade card(with the help from Steve) & yelling, "surprise, Happy Mommy's Day"! Steve & Chan followed her in with breakfast & a brand new crock pot wrapped all nice & neat. I lounged around in bed all morning reading a great book that I started yesterday (A Train To Potevka). We went to our Sunday meetings & afterwards Steve grilled steaks & baked potatoes, made a fresh, crisp salad & we washed it all down with my favorite... apple juice. For dessert, we indulged in banana splits.
I am very grateful to be the mother of two funny, smart, healthy, entertaining & loving little kids. They bring a lot of joy & happiness to my heart. Each day is a new adventure full of messy faces & clothes, laughter & tears, excitement & "oh no's", learning & teaching opportunities, a lot of "what's this" from Kate & a disarray family room. However, I've liked looking at that messy family room (for a few minutes) at the end of the day. It reminds me of the fun that we all had from the moment we woke up. So we pick it all up & look at all over again the next day.
Steve & I are both fortunate to have such wonderful mothers. They are generous, loving, talented, hard working, honest & a lot of fun! When Kate was two and half months old, I went back to teach the second semester school. These two women divided up their week & watched her for 8 hours a day. I will always be grateful for their willingness & sacrifice during that long five months. Thank you for all you do for us & our little family! We LOVE you!

"Jump On It"

Boy did we get our exercise tonight! We went to a place called Jump On It, where they have 30+ trampolines all lined up together & nets around the perimeter. Plus, four blow up bouncers & nine basketball hoops mounted to the walls. Although Kate & Chan kept a constant smile on their face, I think Steve & I had just as much fun. (Sorry that most of these pictures are blurry... not real great with action photos).

"Stop taking pictures mom & just bounce me".

Chandler thinks Steve is a trampoline too.

Kate doing a little jig!Weeeeeee!

And yes, at age thirty I've still got it... back flip & toe touch!

Cinco at Sugar House

Tonight we had a fiesta dinner at Sugar House Park with some old & new friends. Everyone brought a few dishes to share so we had plenty to eat. The kids ran around, fed the ducks, collected pine cones, & took a swing at the sombrero pinata. The adults threw around the football & Frisbee, laughed at the kids & enjoyed the each others company. What a great evening... thanks Natalie & Josh!

Kate gave it all she had... with both ends of the bat.

Collecting all their loot.

Chan Chan the thumb man!

She wore me out by just watching her. She's racing back to put her pine cone in the Frisbee.

Aren't they cute?

Womens Conference Retreat

My mother in law, Julie & I attended BYU's Women's Conference yesterday from 9 am to 9 pm (with a little break in between). We split up for the first two classes, but then reunited for the third. The classes I attended were prepared just for me! It was a wonderful day, full of spiritual & mental up liftment with doses of laughing, exercise & eating. Later in the evening we went back to participate in the service projects with the other 10,000 women. We chose to make the hand stitched Christmas stockings for the local hospitals & Armed Forces. What a rejuvenating day!
Thank you Anna for watching my kids all morning & afternoon... I owe you!
