Aunt Lacey & Uncle Evan came to San Diego!

 

Lacey & I took the kids to the zoo, while Steve & Evan went surfing that morning & to The Hobbit in the afternoon.

 

 

After eating pizza at the Pizza Port we walked around on Solana Beach.  It was a beautiful, but chilly day.

 

 

We did our annual New Years Bowling day... I am proud to say that I am still the champion for the 3rd year in a row! 

(I beat Evan by 1 point)

 

 

Other highlights:  Lacey, Evan & I were the only ones to bring in 2013 with sparkling cider, Sunday dinner, Steve & Evan took the kids to the airplane museum.

A Visit from Nana & Papa

We had a fun few days with Nana & Papa, a couple days after Christmas.  They came to see our new place & to enjoy our new surroundings.

We took a tour of the Mormon Battalion & drove around Old Towne.

 



 

 

 

We spent the afternoon at Balboa Park, enjoying the sun!

Our 1st Christmas in California

  Merry Christmas!

 (We woke the kids up at 6:45am)

 

Pretty much the only thing she's been talking about for 2 months.

 (she is hard core at playing school)

Chan asked when he could go to the driving "ranch"

 (He's pretty good for a 5 year old)

 Sage was a lot of fun this year.  She was over the moon about everything! (lots of squeals, kissing & hugging)

I love my new slippers. 

They keep my feet toasty while walking on the tile & wood floors.

 

 Santa surprised Steve with a new surf board & I surprised him with a new year round wet suit.

Junie B's first Christmas

(we woke her up after all the excitement)

 It was a different feel of Christmas this year with no snow, no sledding or no hot cocoa!

Kept the tradition of presents again this year, each person gets 1 present from Santa & 5 other presents (one from each member of the family)

Breakfast: waffles, bacon & scrambled eggs

Lunch/Dinner:  Ham, potatoes, green beans, salad, corn, rolls

 A Mexican Fiesta (because it fell on the Monday before Christmas), Tubbies, new Christmas pj's, we watched Luke 2 & The Nativity, family prayer, wrote to Santa & in bed by 8:30pm.

Two Santas in One Day

We went to the early morning pancake & Santa breakfast for our new ward in S.D.  Kate & Chan were eager to talk to him, to make sure he knew that we moved & wouldn't forget about them.

 

Sage, not so much.  She just got close enough, to snatch a candy cane from his hands.

 





That night we went to another Santa party (Tina Kargis dad's house.  My V-teacher in Lehi) for more Santa talk, 1 present for each kid, hot chocolate & letter writing.  This is going to be a new Christmas time tradition for us here.  Lots of FUN!
