Cooking in the Mountains!

We decided to test Steve's camping stove out that he got for his birthday. Saturday we woke up early, drove the 10 miles to American Fork Canyon & made breakfast burritos. Since our picnic pass was good for another 3 days, we went up again to have dinner for Family Night. We had a great time & the stove works like a champ!

***FAMILY NIGHT... While we were cooking dinner, a co-worker of Steve's showed up with his family and their neighbors. The neighbors happened to be a friend of Steve's too from Arizona (Jenna Hill Bushnell). She even worked for Steve's dad back in the day. We visited with them in the 75 degree weather, shared our firewood so we could partake in their smores & the kids played until they became grumpy! What else could we of asked for?

Why must she pick up everything?

She thought she would eat with these?

Strawberry dipped in dirt... yummy!

Grilled turkey & cheese with soup.

Dessert...smores!

Packing up & going home!

We have this same stove, my parents bought it for us for our first Christmas and we just used it for the first time two weekends ago. Works like a charm, just sad we barely got around to using it. Hey your anniversary looks relaxing. I could really go for some good clean fun and a sweet excape with my hubby. Glad you guys had some fun and the best part, was that you got to sleep in. Woo Hoo....that's always exciting.

All the food looks really good! This time of year always brings back memories. I still go out and buy tons of school supplies. I had a dream last night that I was teaching and ran to the store but no one was covering my class. When I got back it was complete chaos (not that when I'm there it is any different.)
Congrats on 5 years! We celebrated our anniversary last week too! I am amazed at how fast the years go by!

I love it when you just happen to run into people that you know when you least expect it!
The stove looks great! That's one thing on our list of thing to get...camping gear. So far we have a tent, sleeping bags and a lantern! Woo Hoo!
