13.1 miles

I DID IT!
Thirteen facts about the race.
1. A very beautiful run (trees, streams, golf course, houses).
2. The cool breeze & 73 degree weather saved me.
3. Great shoes is 50% of the race .
4. The other 50% is mental.
5. I am definitely NOT a "hard core" runner.
6. Two grandmas (70+) passed me in mile 10.
7. Very strenuous.
8. Beat my goal time by 9 minutes.
9. The people cheering on the sidelines really keep you going.
10. The sight of mile marker 13 brought tears to my eyes.
11. Achieved one of my goals.
12. Probably my first & last half marathon... I'll stick with the 10K's.
13. I am a FINISHER!

After the race... I feel how Kate looks.

The shirt I received at the finish line... FINISHER!

Way to go hottie! That is so awesome. You've inspired me that I can do it. The hardest part for me is the training and getting ready months before hand. It seems so far away that I just keep putting it off and then it's too late.
Good job Sommer! You rock!

I am so proud of you. I have always wanted to do something like this, but I am a big turtle. I am sure I would have seen every Grandma in the run pass me. One time we were playing City League Soft Ball with Marci and Marc and I hit the ball and ran full out to second base and I really felt like I was hauling butt, and Marc yells out, "Hey Amy, did you feel like you were going fast? Because you were crawling!" So apparently I don't run so fast, but I feel like I do. Does that count? At least you have a kickn' shirt to prove that you did it. That rocks, good job.

That's AWESOME Sommer! That's one goal of mine that I have yet to cross off my list... I'm still thinking about the PF Changs one here in January so we'll have to wait and see. Thanks for the extra push and inspiration to do it! There's nothing quite like the feeling of crossing the finish line when you have been working towards that goal!!!

YEAH SOMMER! Look at your HOT legs! Give it a couple of weeks and you'll want to do another! Let's sign up together. And, yes, for sure let's plan something while our husbands are having their sleepover.
