We spent a week in California; spending time with family, enjoying Disneyland & California Adventure for four days, celebrating Kate's 5th Birthday, admiring the scenery, playing in the sand at Newport Beach & making memories!
Kate & Chan's face was priceless when we arrived inside Disneyland. It was a magical moment for the both of them, as they were soaking it all in. They were the perfect height (Chan by the hair on his head), where they could go on every ride, but Indiana Jones & California Screamin' ! They even screamed their way through Space Mountain a few times.
On Sunday we had dinner with our good friends, the Wootans', at Huntington Beach and then walked around the Newport Temple.
Monday and Tuesday we spent 10-12 hours a day at Disneyland/ Cal. Adventure... loving every minute of it! We rode every ride three or four times (sometimes with no line) we were extremely lucky!
Sage was giving out hugs all week!
Kate jumped into the "Celebrate" parade when they asked for volunteers...
Sage couldn't keep her thumb out of her mouth even to ride the carousel!
Steve, Kate and Aunt Lacey got soaked on the Grizzly even when wearing ponchos.
Highlights from the first three days:
1. Having Papa, Gramma, Auntie Shanda and Lacey, and cousin Brodie with us!
2. Watching the kids faces light up at EVERYTHING!
3. Screaming on the coasters
4. Laughing on Soarin' through California
5. Eating Disneyland Churros
6. Meeting characters (watching Brodie squirm at the human characters and Chan squirm at the characters in costumes)
7. Friendly competitions on the Toy Story 3D ride!
8. Sticking it out through the rain on Tuesday (until the kids got soaked).
9. Birthday lunch at Ariel's Grotto with the girls & princesses (later post)
10. Kate asking why everything in Minnie's house was pretend?! (she's a believer)
11. Seeing & visting with our soon- to- be neighbors all week.
