Heartsy

Dear Nana,

Thank you for the Valentine sticky notes. I spent over 30 minutes decorating every single wall in my room, using every single sticky. I told my mom to close her eyes and then yelled, "Surprise! Doesn't it look HAPPY?" Trust me, she was really surprised! The first thing she said was, "WOW, you've been busy!" But she loved them because it put a big smile on her face.

I hope you have a "Happy" day too!

Love,

Kate

p.s. now if only I can keep Chandler from destroying them.

FIVE Whole Months

Baby girl:
has a smile on her face from the moment she wakes up
is long and lean
rolls over all day long
takes a binky, but tries to sneak in the thumb
loves to bite on her bottom lip
adores Chandler and watches his every move (which is like watching a tennis match)
still not liking rice cereal
very ticklish under her arms

Busy Weekend

Friday night, Cousin Sheila hosted the annual "Curtis Cousins" party with delicious food and games.

Cousin Anna playing "charades!"

Cousin Katie with baby Rhett and Cousin Sarah with baby Sage.

Saturday morning we went to the "Sticky Shoe" theater on Main Street in American Fork to watch Princess and the Frog.

Afterwards, we went to the Legacy Center for some swimming and exercise.

Out of the Mouth of Kate

1. Kate, when are you going to start listening? "On Tuesday."
2. "When can we play with our cousins, Quarter (Porter) and Hunter?"
3. "Sometimes I wish I was 12." Why? "Because that is my favorite number."
4. "Mom, can we have Robin (Ramen) for lunch?"
5. (While saying her prayers) "Help us make good choices, like ummmm... raising our hands to come to Earth."
6. "How bout eddiebody (everybody) listens to me."
7. What song should we sing for Family Home Evening? "I know, how bout Ch-Ch-Ch-Chip -n- Dales Rescue Rangers."
8. "Mom do you know what 16 plus 16 is?" Yes, 32. "Right mom, you are so smart."
9. While I was saying a prayer Kate whispers during it, "you are forgetting to bless McKay on his mission."
10. "Lets call Aunt Shanda and ask her if she can teach me how to ice skate." Lets not!
11. "I don't want to be a mom, I just want to be a gramma."
12. "Mom, why can we only go to the temple on Sundays?" We don't, it's actually not open on Sunday. "Then why does the song say, I love to see the temple, I'm going there Sunday (someday)?"
13. We were driving and she saw a dog out the window and shouted... "what kind of dog is that?" I don't know. "Maybe I should call Nana and ask her, she likes dogs."
14. "Lets play a game in like zero minutes, that means NOW!"
15. "Chandler, I will help you. It's my job because I'm the big sister."

Take A Guess

What is causing Sage's thumb to look like this?

Thumb sucking!
Something she started two weeks ago.

How do you stop a four month old from sucking her thumb, so she won't look like...

No Likey

Rice Cereal

"Am I supposed to swallow it or keep it on my tongue?"

"Not another bite Kate!"

"Please STOP"

"Maybe if I stare at you with my baby blues, you'll throw it away."

Brotherly LOVE

I don't think Sage is the one who has the problem of holding still for pictures. Although, Chandler has taken it upon himself to help her out for a quick snap shot.
He basically ignored her for the first three months of her life. He occasionally kissed her on the top of her head and would say, "hello Sagey!" (He only calls her Sagey, I don't think he knows otherwise).
These past few weeks he can't get enough of her. Always talking to her, kissing on her, wanting to hold her, feed her a bottle, peeks in on her while she is sleeping and even soaps her up in the tub. Oh, the brotherly love. I hope it lasts for a long time.

Oh, to be Four

Today's most stressful decisions- what to take for show-n-tell, what to eat for lunch(a peanut butter and jelly sandwich or a cheese crisp) and what song to sing for Family Home Evening.

We Can't Believe...

she is four months today!
she smiles, laughs and coos
she tells the best stories
she has discovered her fingers and hands
she holds her own bottle
she takes three naps a day
she sleeps from 10:30pm to 7:30am
she rides "her bike" all day when she's awake
she is a great listener
she tries to roll over, but hasn't yet
she weighs 13 pounds 7 ounces
she is truly the peacemaker of the family

We are BACK!

The kids and I flew to Arizona and spent two wonderful and sunny weeks with the family! Our number one reason for going, was to welcome Aunt Lacey home from her mission.
The Reunion...

These two were famous on Lacey's mission for all their funny sayings Lacey would tell the others.

We also attended cousin Haylee's sealing and got our exercise at the reception from all that dancing!

Kate and Gramma

Kate and Aunt Trina at the candy bar

Kate hoping to catch the bouquet!

We are always so grateful to spend time with our family and friends (staying up too late, game nights, hours at the park, hopscotch, ping pong tournaments, jewelry making, eating at our favorite places, shopping, laughing and eating some more).

Sage with Great Nana Trudie

Sage with Great Grams

Sage and cousin Brightyn. They are only three weeks apart.

Chan getting the high ones with gramma

The Brodster and Kate making fresh OJ with gramma.

The girls and I also made a quick trip to Thatcher to have some more fun. Thank you Aunt MJ for watching "wildman" for the weekend.

It's always hard to leave, but we were sure excited to get back to our Stevie!
